Simply from his background and profession, we know that Robert Langdon has a wealth of contextual knowledge when it comes to Dante. A mental catalogue of the history, locations, and symbols of the Renaissance are invaluable tools when unearthing a Renaissance themed conspiracy. This will undoubtedly prove to be one of his greatest assets, but of course he would not be a Harvard professor if he did have serious raw brainpower. Langdon’s intelligence will be crucial and fortunately he is capable of working well with others (Sienna). Thankfully, he also seems to be quite capable of operating under pressure. So far in the story, we haven’t seen Langdon make many mistakes, but he has shown that he doesn’t completely consider everything. Logging into his email was a dangerous move to make and almost got him and Sienna caught by the Consortium. Only time will tell if Langdon repeats the same kind of mistake or if he will cover his tracks better.
Some of the strengths that Robert Langdon has would be his knowledge of objects and other symbols that are important. Because of his flashbacks that he keeps having, he knows something and only time will tell when he is able to remember. Once Roberts memories suppress he will have a vast amount of information about where he was and where he should be. Some of his weaknesses are the fact that he does not think about the decisions he makes before doing them. For instance when he signed into his Harvard email he was not thinking about if someone was trying to hunt him down. If he can strengthen some of his weaknesses he will be able to make it through this book.
Langdon has been through a great deal in the past few hours. He not only woke up in a hospital with no knowledge about what happened, but he is on the run for his life. He has been fairly strong throughout this time. With his perseverance and strength he has been able to dodge killers on motorcycles, and escape the twisted ways of the government. His knowledge has been his savior thus far. Without his comprehension of art history; specifically Dante and the city of Florence he would have been dead long ago. As he continues to regain his memory, his strengths begin to rise as well. On the contrary, Langdon has weaknesses as well. However, most of his weaknesses are a result from being shot at and jumping off a roof, and eventually, even when his weakness is at it’s peak he finds the strength to override it, and push on.
Robert Langdon teaches religious iconology and symbology at Harvard; this clearly indicates that he posses a very high intelligence. His high intelligence and knowledge about symbols and images will clearly help him in the story. For example his intellectual background will probably aid him in deciphering the modifications on “La mappa del Inferno”. Although Robert Langdon is very intelligent he cannot think with high pressure. A good example of this is that he checks his Harvard e-mail with ought masking his Ip address; this is how they find him.
In book ''Inferno'' Robert Langdon is main character who lost his memory, he doesn't know where is he, he doesn't know what happened to him, he has amnesia and he woke up in the hospital. Thing that presenting his strenght is that he didn't want just to rest and do nothing, he wanted to go out and find out what happened to him last night. Also, his big advantage and strenght was his knowledge of symbols and pictures, his knowledge about objects and his effort to figure out who is women with silver hair and what her words "seek and you shall find'' means. His strenght was also his survival skills, what he been through and survived. His really bad decision made him and Sienna in really dangerous position, they were almost caught by Consortium. His weakness mindlessness, how he didn't think about, if he log in on his hardvard email they can locate and find them.
The protagonist, Robert Langdon, is a very intelligent character in this novel. He has many strengths and weaknesses to his personality. He is a professor who teaches symbology and Art History at Harvard University. In his very short amount of time he has to figure out what is going on and why Dr. Sinskey keeps telling him “seek and you shall find”. He is a very strong and dedicated character who is trying to seek the answers for why the government wants him dead. His full recollection of what has happened in his past hasn’t fully came back to him yet so once it does I feel he will be a smarter man and make better decisions. His thought process along with his brain injury is a big weakness for him at this point in time. As the government is trying to track Landon down he uses his email not thinking that the government could be able to track it and they eventually find his location. Only time will tell where Langdon will end up at the end of this novel.
Robert Langdon is the protagonist of Dan Brown’s Inferno. Through his struggles to find out why he is being hunted and to solve the puzzle at hand, his character strengths and weaknesses are presented clearly. One weakness that stands out from his character is obviously his lack of memory. He keeps having these hallucinations which are great for solving the puzzle of why he is here, but without the memory he is creating more of a struggle for himself than there really should be. On the opposite end of the spectrum his knowledge of Dante’s Inferno, The Map of Hell, is important to solving the mystery at hand. He is able to relate the situation and signs he is seeing for himself to that of the Inferno. Without that knowledge of Dante’s inferno, Langdon would really be in a deadlock and probably even dead from the many times he has been hunted. Perhaps the most important trait of Langdon is his curiosity. No one can solve a mystery without being curious, and that is just what he is. Combine that with his knowledge and he gives himself a pretty strong chance of solving the mystery and returning to his normal life.
Robert Langdon was a professor at Harvard University who was from New Hampshire. He was also a very paranoid individual who also had many thoughts going through his mind. However he was also very cryptic and never really liked expressing himself as he was used to his bachelorette lifestyle, although he did have close friends at work. He was also very well travelled and exposed to different cultures, and in the book it seemed that he was well known. He strengths were that he was very positive and confident even though he knew the circumstances he was in, however he was also very empathetic especially towards sienna as she was putting herself in risk and he understood that. His weakness was that he had very high anxiety and could be very vulnerable sometimes especially when he kept on hallucinating, and his memory was rather vague even though he was studying about a painting.
Robert Langdon has a few strengths and a few weaknesses in my opinion. He obviously has the strength of being an expert in the field of iconography and knowing this information will help him complete his goal, whatever it is. Much of this book is connected to ancient Florence and much about Dante and his work, and it has many bible references, and knowing about this stuff will make Langdon able to continue on his “quest.” One other of Langdon’s strength is his mind itself, Langdon is as a person very smart. He is able to make connections in his mind that help him solve this mystery. And his “partner” is also very smart, so they together will be able to figure out what to do in this book. Langdon is also a very storng person; he was able to escape an expert assassin while he was being sedated with drugs meant to put someone into surgery state sleep. That is very impressive, he was also able to think through some of the worst pain someone could feel, he was shot in the head, and had to try and figure out why he was in Florence. One of Langdon’s weaknesses, however, is that he is in a place that he is not very familiar with. Even though he knows about the history of Florence, he isn’t very acquainted with the people and places today.
Robert Langdon's character has noticeable strengths that help define his role in the story. Being as intelligent as he is, Langdon has had the ability to take many shortcuts while working through the mysteries and problems in the novel, which in the end saves him from further complication. As a professor and highly educated and well-traveled intellectual, it works to his advantage when coming across a situation where his skills are needed more than any others. Langdon also seems to be quit fearless and dare I say slightly ignorant of evil exactly when it is most necessary. Being as brainy as he is may end up getting Langdon into some sort of trouble. With that big head of his is seems to be fairly easy for Robert to get lost in his own thoughts. It seems, regardless of how many times his knowledge may move him a step forward, his thoughts that are a little more personal may force him to take him a couple steps back.
